TAFE Outreach programs are closely aligned to the Federal Social Inclusion Agenda ensuring NSW education is accessible to people who face barriers to learning including geographical and social isolation, language and cultural factors, financial hardship, lack of educational confidence, being unaware of opportunities to learn, a disability or family commitments.
Students are enrolled in Certificate II in Hospitality which is delivered both at Wollongbar Campus and the YWCA’s commercial kitchen in Goonellabah.
The Outreach Coordinator provides leadership in negotiating with key stakeholders to ensure that the learning remains meaningful to the students and that they have a voice in the project’s development.
Outreach works closely with the Tourism and Hospitality section to ensure the curriculum is tailored to the group’s needs, and that students and staff are well supported.
